RHEGED hosts a New Years Eve Gala live from Berlin tomorrow (Wednesday, 4.30pm) with the Berlin Philharmonic and pianist Menahem Pressler making a special appearance on the Penrith venue's Imax screen.

Menahem has made recording and interpretation history for more than half a century with the Beaux Arts Trio, which he founded in 1955. He was born in Magdeburg in 1923 and fled the National Socialist regime with his family. For his appearance at this year’s New Year’s Eve concert at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, the grand seigneur of piano has selected Mozart's Piano Concerto in A major, composed during Mozart’s prime in Vienna and one of his most beautiful contributions to the genre. The concert will open with Sir Simon Rattle (pictured) conducting music by Jean-Philippe Rameau: a suite of instrumental pieces from the opéra-ballet Les Indes galantes.

Reservations only. For live broadcasts, performances start promptly and latecomers will not be admitted.

Meanwhile, on New Years Day try brunch followed by family film screenings of Frozen Sing-a-along (11.30am) and Monsters Vs Aliens (1.30pm).
