MEMBERS of Kendal and District Cycle Scene voted Brief Encounters at Carnforth as the cafe which offered the best service to its cyclists in 2014.
In previous years Wilfs of Staveley and the RSPB at Leighton Moss have been winners. Having held the award for a year, a café cannot win it again for five years.
There was considerable competition with the Lunesdale Bakery, Kirkby Lonsdale, achieving second place along with the Churchmouse at Barbon. Other high ranking stops included the Old Hall Farm café at Bouth , The Mallard at Cartmel and the Scrafe at Grange.
