CUMBRIA County Council (CCC) has agreed to ‘look again’ at a bus shelter for secondary school pupils in Grizebeck after hearing complaints from parents at a public meeting.
A report by the authority’s Bus Panel recommended that no bus shelter should be built after several residents expressed concerns about potential litter and ‘disturbance’ from around 20 children.
But after hearing comments from parents saying it ‘just wasn’t good enough’, Carol Last, County Council Engagement Officer, agreed to look for a suitable alternative location for a bus shelter and bus stop in the village.
Residents packed into Grizebeck Community Hall on Saturday for a public meeting of the A595 Action Group, where the issue was discussed.
