Staff and students gave a resounding thumbs up to the Healthy College Week which saw them taking part in a range of sports including dodgeball, kayaking, golf, table tennis and badminton, Zumba, boxing and lots more. The event also saw students learning about key healthy practices to make them safer and healthier. Thanks to external organisations Heart Start Basic First Aid, Sexpression, Inspira Drugs Aware, The Police and Consequences and Coppafeel Breast Cancer Awareness.

The event is organised as part of Furness College’s Healthy College Status which sees the college regularly committing to events and promotions which promote the health and wellbeing of all students.

Organiser, Learning Enrichment Co-ordinator Karen Turner said, “This event always proves to be a great success as it is the chance to learn something new to make you fitter and healthier. Thank you to all the staff and students who gave up their time to join in the activities and to the external organisations who supported the event too and sent home some really important key messages.”
