GOVERNMENT Minister Grant Shapps visited Cumbria on Monday to check out how superfast broadband is being rolled out across the county through the Connecting Cumbria programme.
He joined representatives from Cumbria County Council and BT at veterinary practice XLVet UK Ltd in Dalston, north Cumbria, which is using speeded up broadband to deliver services and advice online.
Cllr David Southward, Cumbria County Council’s cabinet member responsible for economic development, said: “The roll out of superfast broadband across Cumbria connects the county to the world and brings us all of the benefits of city living whilst enjoying our brilliant environment."
