INVESTIGATIONS are being conducted by police following a spate of burglaries in Ulverston.

Expensive items were taken from a number of properties during the last two weeks.

Cumbria police said a black Carrera mountain bike was snatched from a garage on Mearness Drive sometime between midday on Saturday (February 7) and 11.30am on Sunday (February 8).

The offender would have had to walk down the drive of the property and open a secure garage door before taking the men's bike which has green and white markings and is in brand new condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 and quote log number 138 of February 8.

The force said sometime between February 3 and 6 a rear door of a home on Ainslie Street had been forced open and items including a lap top, hard drive and head phones were swiped before the offender made off.

An iPhone was stolen from the kitchen table of a house on Richmond Terrace sometime between 8pm and 9pm on January 31.

Police said the offender entered by a secure rear door.

Anyone with information regarding the burglaries on Ainslie Street and Richmond Terrace should contact 101 and ask for DC Sarah McArthur or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
