THE seed of an idea to cultivate vegetables in Carnforth have been planted.
Carnforth Town Council is considering how it could start a community veg-growing project along the lines of Incredible Edibles in Todmorden. The scheme sees plants sown in raised beds around the West Yorkshire market town and harvested by townsfolk as and when they wish to eat them.
A resident of Carnforth has contacted the town council to see if something similar can be set up, and she is to be invited to the council's March meeting to explain her idea.
