Congratulations to Painting & Decorating Apprentice, Connor Lambton who demonstrated excellent skills at a training event to see if he is chosen to represent the UK at the WorldSkills in São Paulo, Brazil in August 2015. A brilliant job - especially as many of the skills were under timed conditions.

The event took place at Furness College in specially built WorldSkills standard booths created by staff and students in the carpentry & joinery section of the college. The other contestants competing against Connor were: Curtis Baker, Doncaster College and Brendan Magee - Newry, Southern Region College, Northern Ireland.

Also taking place during the week was training for the WorldSkills joinery place in Team UK. The apprentices taking part were David Hodkins, City of Oxford College and Dominic Hicks, Pembrokeshire College.

Thank you to the judges Peter Walters - Training Manager, Stoke-on-Trent College and Andrew Pegely - Training manager, Somerset College and to all the Furness College staff and students who have helped to make this event possible.
