Historic Chinese painting worth thousands stolen from property in Appleby
AN HISTORIC Chinese silk painting worth thousands of pounds has been stolen from a property in Appleby.
The work of art is around 150 years old and is valued in the region of £3,000.
It was taken from the property, on Battlebarrow, Appleby, between March 12 and March 19.
Police are appealing for information from anybody who may have seen anything suspicious or been offered the chance to buy the painting.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Cumbria Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
