KENDAL student Tom Latham has been presented with his official badge of office as one of three Cumbria Members of the UK Youth Parliament.
Tom, who attends The Queen Katherine School, received his badge from Cumbria County Councillor Nick Cotton, chair of the authority's South Lakeland Local Committee.
Cllr Cotton said: “The Youth Parliament election received a great deal of support from members of the local committee and it really made politics come alive for young people.”
The first UK Youth Parliament election in Cumbria was held in December last year. Nearly 6,000 young people voted online, representing a 15.1 per cent turnout and the successful candidates were announced at an election count held at County Hall, Kendal.
