EYCOTT Hill is Cumbria’s newest nature reserve following a successful fundraising campaign and purchase by Cumbria Wildlife Trust.
Located between Keswick and Penrith, near Mungrisdale, the site covers 216 hectares of wildlife habitat and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest for biology and its geology.
The purchase, completed this month, was made possible thanks to a grant of £232,200 from WREN’s Biodiversity Action Fund, and other grants.
