A SEARCH operation was launched after a Three Peaks walker without a phone, map or compass got separated from his group and failed to turn up.
The man, in his 50s, got ahead of the rest of his party at around midday yesterday (May 3) at Ribblehead.
After waiting for an hour-and-a-half after the group had completed the walk, they sent a van to look for him around the Clapham area but there was no sign.
MORE TOP STORIES: Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation was called at around 8.30pm.
As they began their search the man was reported to be in a taxi, returning from Horton in Ribblesdale to Dent.
