A Customer Service Advisor at Leeds Building Society’s Kendal branch raised £1,000 for a cancer charity by taking part in a 10k extreme obstacle course run.
Deborah Briggs successfully completed the Total Warrior event at Shap, raising £1,000 for Breakthrough to Breast Cancer - including £370 in matched funding from Leeds Building Society.
Deborah said: “Total Warrior is an extreme event which provides the ultimate test of stamina, strength and determination.
“The 10k run has 30 punishing obstacles, during which I found muscles I never knew I had! The event involved running over fire, swimming in ice cold water, crawling through muddy and claustrophobic tunnels, hanging off ropes and climbing crazy obstacles.
“I have a close friend who’s had a tough year battling breast cancer at the young age off 33. She is married with two young children. I decided to do this personal challenge of Total Warrior to raise money for a charity close to her heart - Breakthrough to Breast Cancer.
“I am delighted to have raised £1,000 in total, and would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me and Leeds Building Society for providing matched funding.”
