Two safes stolen from Grange charity shop in overnight raid
CALLOUS thieves stole two safes from a Grange-over-Sands charity shop in an overnight raid.
The criminals entered St Mary's Hospice, on Yewbarrow Terrace, through the back door and made off with the vaults on the evening of Wednesday, August 26.
One of the safes was recovered nearby but the other, containing a quantity of cash, is still missing.
The missing safe is described as being a light blue Burton Eurovault.
At a similar time to the incident, a bench in the nearby Community Orchard was damaged and police believe these incidents to be linked.
