A TALENT competition was launched with a flash mob performance on the streets of Kendal.

Dozens of dancers erupted into a routine to the S Club 7 hit Reach by the Birdcage on Saturday (September 12).

The Charity Stars contest, run by Furness Building Society, challenges people to perform on behalf of their nominated good cause with the chance of winning a share of more than £3,000 in cash prizes.

The ultimate winner will also get their taste of fame by becoming a Star for a Day at The Bay radio and recording their own video and music session with the station.

Nigel Quinton, chief executive of the society, said: “The Furness is part of the community so supporting the charities which support those communities is a very strong commitment for us."

Entrants can video their performance and upload it via The Bay or Furness Building Society websites www.furnessbs.co.uk or www.thebay.co.uk where there is more information about the contest.

The talent competition audition videos will be shared to gain publicity for their nominated charity and give viewers a taste of the entrant’s talent.
