A NEW report from South Lakeland District Council says the authority is on track towards its twin target of delivering 1,000 new jobs and 1,000 affordable rented homes by 2025.

Latest estimates show 152 jobs have now been provided since 2013, with 20 being in the second quarter of 2015/16.

The council has also worked with partners and private firms to enable 220 affordable homes to rent since 2013, 11 in the last quarter.

The figures are revealed in a report to the SLDC’s Performance sub-committee, which examines how well SLDC is doing against its targets for the economy, housing, environment, and health and wellbeing.
