KENDAL’S Knit and Natter Ladies have raised more than £950 this year with their handmade poppies.
The ladies, who meet each week at The Rifleman’s Arms, have been knitting and crocheting poppies for The Royal British Legion for three years.
This year they received a donation for materials from Veritas Financial Planning, meaning the group could donate every penny direct to the Poppy Appeal.
Group member Wendy Higson said: “Not only are we delighted with this year’s total, but also delighted that over the past three years, we will have raised a grand total of £2,797 for our local Poppy Appeal.”
