Carnforth Town Council is to consider creating extra floral displays in the town.
EXTRA floral displays should be created in Carnforth, says the town council's tourism committee.
Suggested locations include the railings at the top of New Street, near Tesco supermarket and near bicycle shop Dyno-Start; and on the grassy area by the Ex-Servicemen's Club. opposite the entrance to Aldi and Booths car parks. The containers cost £1,439 plus VAT, the meeting heard.
Cllr Larry Branyan was concerned the project could "create a deal more work" on outdoor maintenance, and Cllr Janette Gardner suggested that nearby shops could be invited to sponsor the displays to help with costs. Cllr Aurelian Barbu is to make the approaches.
The final decision on the extra flower displays rests with Carnforth Town Council.
