Mayor of Kendal 'fine' after kidney transplant operation
THE Mayor of Kendal has emerged smiling after going under the knife to give his wife a kidney.
Cllr Chris Hogg has posted a photo from his hospital bed after undergoing transplant surgery at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, to give wife Cllr Rachael Hogg one of his kidneys.

The couple’s story led them to start the Kendal Donor Town initiative – using Chris’s year as Mayor to encourage as many Kendalians as possible to sign up to the Organ Donor Register.
