Reading many letters predicting disaster for us if we leave the EU would make anyone think we had never been outside it.

Well, I remember this country being a much better place before the common market. It was a time when you voted for leaders that would lead us and not be led by foreign powers and unelected commissioners and we had control of our borders.

The doom mongers always come up with the same arguments. There are dire warnings of unemployment. All total scaremongering, of course, as only a very small percentage of UK business deals directly with the EU.

In addition they are not going to stop trading with us as it would also hurt them financially. Common sense dictates if we make things they want they will buy them; equally if we want the things they make we will buy them.

There are also companies that share projects with EU companies such as Airbus and BAE, where it would not be viable for those companies to take on work done by us.

Even if we were forced to pay trade tariffs it has been calculated these will amount to seven billion pounds at present trading levels (half what we already contribute in EU fees) - a net gain for us.

If anything affects employment it is oppressive EU red tape, energy policy and regulation.

The pro EU tell us that being in Europe makes war less likely, yet the EU involvement in the Ukraine and the confrontation with Russia has brought us closer to WW3 that at any time since WW2.

I have absolutely nothing against Europeans. Indeed if many Europeans were given a referendum I am sure half of the countries would vote 'No' to the EU. There is only one answer and that is to leave the EU as soon as possible.
