A 68-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to hospital with a broken ankle after slipping yesterday.
Patterdale Mountain rescue team members were called to the local woman's aid after she fell while walking on Gray Crag, above Hartsop.
The woman was given pain relief and her ankle was splinted.
She was then placed on a stretcher and lowered down the fell to a waiting team Land Rover before being taken to the team's rescue centre and to an ambulance.
The rescue involved fourteen team members for two-and-a-half hours.
