A CUMBRIAN cottage lettings company has been awarded not one, but two prestigious national awards.

Sally's Cottages have been awarded the 'Overall Use of Social Media' award and the founder, Sally Fielding, was crowned 'Social Media Personality of the Year'.

The Social Travel Britain Awards celebrates all things digital, and it was the agency's loyal Facebook following that garnered the attention of the judges.

Sally, who founded the business in 2003 with just one holiday cottage in the South Western Lake District, said that she is 'honoured' to have been recognised.

“Social media has pushed Sally’s Cottages forwards and it is our most important marketing tool for increasing our brand exposure," Sally said. “These awards are real accolades for our business and it rewards the huge amount of time and resource we invest in our social media marketing.”

Sally's Cottages now have an impressive 360 cottages, homes and apartments throughout Cumbria, have an office in central Keswick, employs 13 staff, over 80 self-employed cleaners, a team of plumbers, handymen and electricians.

Mark Frary, the awards and conference organiser, commended the creative businesses for their innovative marketing strategies.

"We had a tough time picking winners from a strong field of contenders," he said. "Our winners thoroughly deserve their success.”
