NEW light-up signs proposed for a Kendal bank have been rejected by planners.
The Royal Bank of Scotland England and Wales is to be rebranded as Williams & Glyn, and new illuminated signs were proposed for the Market Place branch.
Kendal Town Council objected, as did Kendal Civic Society, saying the lit signage had "no place in Kendal's street scene". South Lakeland District Council rejected the plans as "inappropriate and incongruous".
