A NEW Kendal based salon will be offering 'vampire facials'.

Timeless Beauty and Aesthetics are hoping to draw customers in with the treatment, which is a favourite of Kim Kardashian.

Jessica Walker, the salon's owner, has said that she thinks there is a real market for the gruesome sounding facial in Kendal.

"It sounds disgusting, but it has amazing results," she said. "It makes you look five years younger!"

The treatment involves extracting patient's blood from their arm, spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the red and white blood cells.

The concentrated plasma is then injected into the face, supposedly contributing to a more youthful appearance.

Located on 73 Highgate, the salon will also be offering botox, lip-fillers and conventional beauty therapy treatments such as manicures.

Jessica will be employing five staff members, all of whom completed their training at Kendal College, where Jessica currently works as a beauty therapy teacher.

"I'm really excited to be able to open a new business in Kendal because the town has come to mean a lot to me," she said. "I have been working at the college for the last 12 years which is at the heart of the local community.

"I wanted to stay local and still be a part of the local community that I have become so fond of."

The salon will be opening on May 27 from 5-9pm for a demonstration evening.
