RESCUERS went to the aid of a 50-year-old walker, who dislocated his left kneecap, high up on Ingleborough, on Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation immobilised his leg, gave him pain relief and put him onto a stretcher.

MORE TOP STORIES: He was then carried and ‘sledged’ down to a CRO Land Rover, which drove him to the road-head where he was was transferred to a Yorkshire Ambulance Service ambulance, waiting in Chapel-le-Dale.
