A MAN has been left in a serious condition following a collision on the M6 on Saturday evening.
The incident happened at around 5.20pm when a black Toyota Corolla travelling southbound with three passengers on board has travelled from the third lane, coming off the carriageway and collided with a barrier at junction 35 at Carnforth, setting on fire.
The driver – a 32 year old man from Bolton – suffered pelvis and head injuries. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The front seat passenger – a 29 year old man from Preston – was left with a broken collar bone and the back passenger – a 31-year-old woman from Bolton – suffered spinal injuries.
Officers are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Sgt John Jennings-Warton said: “We are trying to ascertain exactly what happened and how this collision came to occur and so I am asking any witnesses who might have seen something that could help us with our investigation to get in touch.”
