MEMBERS of Settle Beaver Colony have raised over £350 for the Cave Rescue Organisation with an evening sponsored walk from Clapham.

They had previously been given a talk on the work of the organisation and had an opportunity to take a close look at the equipment used by cave rescue members.

The events were part of an initiative to get all parts of the Scouting movement in the Ingleborough district involved with their local community as part of the Community Impact Project.

Ingleborough District Commissioner Sue Haddrill said: "The Cave Rescue Organisation is ideal as a community-based charity with which we should be working. Being active in the outdoors is common to both and CRO provides an introduction to volunteering in an environment already enjoyed through Scouting."
