POLICE are investigating a report of armed robbery in Ravenglass on the west coast of Cumbria.

Police were called at 10.20am today (January 11) following a robbery that took place at the Post Office on Main Street.

Two male offenders, dressed in black with their faces covered, and carrying knives threatened a staff member and made off with an unknown amount of money.

Police are appealing for anyone who noticed anyone or any vehicles acting suspiciously to get in touch.

Detective Chief Inspector Roy Ledingham, West Cumbria CID, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of the post office in Ravenglass between 10am and 10.30am that noticed anything suspicious.

“Fortunately nobody was hurt during this incident and we have a team of officers actively making enquiries to trace those responsible.

“No matter how insignificant you may deem your information, it may help our enquiries so please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
