THE Mayor of Kendal is sporting a florally festooned bonnet in a bid to encourage the town's green-fingered gardeners to enter one of the horticultural calendar's top competitions.

The deadline for entries for this year's Kendal in Bloom Competition is next Friday (July 6) and Coun Murfin urges anyone who has not already done so to vie for gardening greatness.
