A CHARITY walk across the sands of Morecambe Bay which raises thousands of pounds for a rescue team will not be going ahead this year.
Flookburgh-based Bay Search and Rescue has held the Charity Cross Bay Walk for the last nine years. Hundreds are led across the sands by Cedric Robinson, Queens Guide to the Sands, and the cash raised usually covers the cost of the team's vehicle fleet insurance each year.
But it will not be taking place this year because Mr Robinson cannot fit the walk in to his busy schedule.
