SUNSHINE greeted Lib Dem leader Tim Farron as he zipped into Levens and officially opened the new aerial runway on the playing fields.
Dozens of pupils and parents from Levens CE School greeted the Westmorland and Lonsdale MP, who looked delighted to set aside the more serious demands of political life by jumping aboard the zip wire.
Mr Farron praised the efforts of Levens Playing Fields Committee and the many villagers and local businesses who helped to raise funds and gave up their time to install the popular play feature. The Lakes Leisure charitable trust was the major funder.
