TWO walkers were rescued after they became cragfast at Blencathra on Saturday afternoon.
The 19-year-old men requested assistance after they got off route on Sharp Edge, with one of them in a very precarious position.
The Keswick Mountain Rescue Team responded swiftly and a Coastguard helicopter was requested to attend because of the position of the most vulnerable casualty to see if the men could be winched directly.

Once on scene, it was decided that the downwash from the aircraft might dislodge them, so the helicopter lifted a group of rescue team members with rigging kit to the top of Blencathra, and two team members down climbed on steep ground, and assisted the men to safety.
After a quick checkover, they went on their way, and the Team returned to their vehicles to make their way home.
The rescue took 15 team members just over three hours.
