THE Rotary Club of Grange raised thousands of pounds at a successful auction and three charities were presented with cash at a presentation held at the Netherwood Hotel.
Ulverston's St Mary's Hospice, South Lakeland Age UK and Flookburgh-based Bay Search and Rescue each received £1,000 each.
The auction, which included pledges such as a parachute jump and a tour around the House of Lords, also took place at the Netherwood Hotel.
"It took a lot of work but it was really good fun on the night," said club secretary Helen Frain-Kaye. "The auctioneer was David Brooks, from 1818, who has been on TV quite a bit.
"He was brilliant at the job and he really created a fun atmosphere. A lot of people got carried away and actually paid more than the pledges were worth!
"It was a good fun evening all round."
