TWO of north Lancashire's visitor attractions are teaming up to boost visitor numbers.

Carnforth Heritage Centre and Leighton Hall are just four miles apart and they have designed a full day's itinerary to appeal to group visitors and coaching customers.

John Adams, manager of the heritage centre at Carnforth railway station, told the Gazette: "Lucy Arthurs at Leighton Hall and I have always been friends and as neighbouring attractions try to help each other wherever possible.

"We are both half-day destinations, so it made perfect sense to join forces and offer our group visitors and coaching customers a full day out incorporating both venues."

Lucy added: "We’ve made it as easy as possible. We’ve created a full day’s itinerary so it’s easy for group organisers and tour operators to plan their trip."

The day's schedule will see visitors arrive at Carnforth Heritage Centre at 10.30am to view the exhibitions and souvenir shop, and enjoy coffee and lunch at the refreshment rooms that inspired scenes in the classic David Lean movie Brief Encounter.

Then it’s back on the coach and off to Leighton Hall where afternoon tea, guided house tours, gardens and a birds-of-prey display awaits.

The package is available to groups of 25 or more, and must be pre-booked.
