THE next phase of the "momentous Lancaster Moor legacy" has begun, says developer PJ Livesey.

All homes at The Residence, the landmark Annexe building described as an "icon on the Lancaster skyline", have now been reserved - and construction has started on Moor Park, a small complementary new-build development that will sit within the grounds.

Surrounded by mature trees and backing onto a restored cricket field and wildlife meadow, Moor Park will offer 62 traditional stone properties constructed to the highest standards. Prices start from £179,950 and they will range from three-bedroom mews homes perfect for first-time buyers to large five-bedroom detached executive family houses.

The location offers a perfect combination, says the developer, with easy access to Lancaster city centre and all its attractions, and the beauty and open space of the Bowland Fells right on the doorstep.

There’s even going to be a local shop so Moor Park's future residents don't have to get into the car for groceries.

Work is progressing well on site with the same skilled teams working on Moor Park who converted the Grade II-listed building. The old hospital administration buildings have been demolished with as much of the waste as possible re-used on site. New trees have been planted and there will be a tree-lined avenue leading to the development.

The first properties to be completed will be a row of mews homes fronting Quernmore Road, and a show home is due to open next month. It is anticipated the first homes will be complete by autumn.
