A MURDER mystery cruise is to set sail on Windermere on Friday, July 14 to raise money for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

The charity has teamed up with Windermere Lake Cruises and the After Dark Murder Mystery Theatre Company for the Great Gatsby-themed event, which will see a specially chartered steamer depart from Bowness Bay at 7pm.

Tammy Hoskins, Rosemere’s south Cumbria area fundraising coordinator, said: "This is a first for us, a first for Windermere Lake Cruises and for the professional actors performing the mystery. It should be great fun."

Tickets are available on 01772-522913 or email info@rosemere.org.uk

Meanwhile, Windermere Golf Club is to stage its second Rosemere golf day on Thursday, July 13, sponsored by Ambleside’s Salutation Hotel. A final call is being made for teams of four to take part. Last year's event raised £6,000 for the charity.

To enter, contact David Smith, proprietor of Windermere’s Rayrigg Motors, on 07974-143070 for an entry form.

All proceeds from the cruise and the golf day will go to Rosemere's 20 Years Anniversary Appeal to fund ground-breaking projects at the Rosemere Cancer Centre at the Royal Preston Hospital, where patients from south Cumbria and Lancashire receive radiotherapy. For more, visit www.rosemere.org.uk
