TWO Kirkby Lonsdale friends are set to star in an ITV show later this month after they sent out a showreel to the producers for 'a bit of fun'.
Frank Welch and Philip Svejnoha took part in popular antiques show 'Name Your Price', presented by David Dickinson.
The episode will be broadcast on July 30, and the pair have confirmed that they 'do much better than they expected', hinting at a surprise ending.
Mr Welch, who is company director of FG Welch Central Heating Company, said: "It was brilliant, we had a great laugh.
"I have never been on television before, but funnily enough Phil was more nervous than I was. We were in front of an audience of about 150.
"There was quite a lot of audience participation as well, so there's a chance my wife and Phil's girlfriend will be on as well."
'Name Your Price' sees three pairs of contestants competing against each other to correctly value antiques or collectables in order to win.
Mr Welch said: "I am interested in antiques, and this was just something that we wanted to try out. We really just did it for a bit of fun.
"We did the show reel in one take. We never expected to get on, so we were shocked when the producers rang us up and said they loved it.
"We did quite well on the show. We did much better than we expected, but we can't give away the ending."
Mr Svejnoha added: "The crew really looked after us, they were fantastic. It was a buzz. We had a great experience."
The episode that features Mr Welch and Mr Svejnoha will broadcast at 3pm on ITV 1 on July 20.
