SHOPPERS at the Co-op who are members of the supermarket's loyalty scheme can now help the Rosemere Cancer Foundation when they buy 5p carrier bags or certain own-brand goods. The Co-op has grocery stores in Ambleside, Windermere, Kirkby Stephen and Grange-over-Sands.
Rosemere's 20th anniversary appeal aims to raise £1.5 million for the Rosemere Cancer Centre at Royal Preston Hospital, where patients from Lancashire and south Cumbria are treated.
Cathy Skidmore, Rosemere's corporate fundraising manager, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as a beneficiary of the Co-op Local Community Fund. We would ask our supporters, who aren’t already Co-op members, to please sign up and become members to boost the money we receive, which I believe will be significant in helping us reach our appeal target.”
