PLANS to extend the dining rooms at St Cuthbert's Nursing Home at Aldingham, near Ulverston, have been lodged with South Lakeland District Council.

The property, Aldingham Hall, is Grade II listed and was built by wealthy cleric the Rev Dr John Stonard in the 1840s.

The applicant, Risedale Estates Ltd of Barrow-in-Furness, plans to use limestone, slate tiles and render to be 'sympathetic' to the Victorian mansion, according to planning documents.
