AN attempted theft of a pedal bike in Wildman Street, Kendal, is being investigated by police.
Police say a cyclist had just unlocked his bike near to the pedestrian crossing at the junction of Beezon Road when he was approached by a man who then tried to take the bike from him.
The owner refused to hand over the bike and the offender made off from the scene. The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Monday.
Police say the incident may have been witnessed by people standing nearby, one or more of whom may have recorded it on their mobile phone.
The man trying to take the bike is described as white, aged in his mid-to-late 20s, with light ginger hair and a pale complexion.
