A SEVENTY-five-year milestone has been reached by Davis & Bowring, the property management, estate agency and chartered surveying firm at Kirkby Lonsdale.

The company was established in Barbon in 1942 by land agents Mr John Davis and Colonel Kit Bowring.

The early 1950s saw the firm relocate to Kirkby Lonsdale's Main Street. Last year it moved to a new purpose-built office on the town outskirts, where a team of 21 - including eight chartered surveyors - advises clients on estate, land and sporting property matters.

"The rural land and property sector is constantly evolving," said land agent and director Henry Armitage, "but our aim has always been to deliver a flexible and personal property management service, coupled with in-depth knowledge and expertise, which has enabled us to grow into one of the region’s leading independent firms of chartered surveyors.

"We continue to focus on serving local rural communities providing land, estate and sporting agency services, valuations and all other property-related advice to enable our clients to meet their specific aims and objectives."
