A SOUTH Lakes show steeped in history will be returning next week.
The Hawkshead Agricultural Show, which can trace its foundation back to Beatrix Potter, will be taking place at Hawkshead Hall Farm on Tuesday August 22.
Set in the Vale Of Esthwaite famous for Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth the show field is situated half a mile north of the village.
Every year the show hosts a large variety of attractions, with a wide range of horse classes alongside the sheep, dogs and cattle judging.
This year's event will also feature a extensive horticultural tent, with home produce, flowers and vegetables. Arts and crafts will also be on show.
This year's main ring attraction is Shaun Raywood's Dog Display Team. They will be demonstrating obedience and agility.
The show also boasts over 50 trade stands, and hound trails, upon which visitors can bet. The hounds will be following an aniseed trail through the countryside.
Admission for adults is £7, and children cost £3. Parking is free at the show ground.
