SIXTEEN new homes planned for a brownfield site between Low and High Bentham met with approval.
Craven District Council's planning committee heard six of the dwellings will be classed as affordable, helping to address "significant" local housing need.
Formerly home to a hatchery and a manufacturer of trailers and horse boxes, the plot of land at Felstead, Low Bentham Road, has now been cleared of its empty industrial unit and vacant dwelling.
Applicant Carr and Stocks Development Ltd is proposing a mix of terraced, detached and semi-detached homes with slate roofs and grey uPVC windows.
The scale of the plans attracted one objection.
Planners agreed that consent could be granted once a legal agreement had been made to secure the six affordable homes, plus a payment of £46,000 towards public open space in Bentham.
