Cumbria's Conservative councillors came together today and reiterated their support to Prime Minister Theresa May.
Cumbria’s thirty-seven Conservative councillors were joined in a video by Copeland’s MP, Trudy Harrison, Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall and North West MEP Sajjad Karim.
James Airey, Leader of the Conservatives in Cumbria and the Parliamentary Candidate for Westmorland and Lonsdale at June’s General Election, said: "In her speech yesterday, Theresa May reached out to a wide audience, just as she did in her inspiring speech on the steps of No.10 last year, and we applaud her.
"In our video today we wanted to make it crystal clear that as ever the Prime Minister has our support and we thank her for the leadership she is giving, not just to Conservatives, but to this Country.
"Housing, high energy prices and a low wage economy are all pressures in our area.
"These are issues that the Prime Minister knows and cares about and we welcome the announcements and vision to tackle these problems in her speech. "Theresa May is a fantastic Prime Minister to lead us through Brexit and beyond and our Conservative policies are the right policies for the people of this area."
