A MURDER investigation has been launched after a 32-year-old man died after sustaining a knife injury on a Kendal estate.
Alwin Newell was found at his home at Vicars Field, Kirkbarrow on Sunday (July 22) after sustaining a severe knife injury.
Despite efforts from paramedics and police officers, who attended the scene, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
A 29-year-old woman from Kendal has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the incident and is being held at the town's police station.
A post mortem examination has been carried out and South Lakeland coroner Ian Smith has been informed.
Police are still appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious at Vicars Field on Sunday morning or was in the area at the time to step forward.
