A 54-year-old woman from Lancashire has been taken to hospital following a collision on the M6 southbound.
Police were called at 12.12pm today (Thursday, November 23) to reports of a crash between a Citroen C1 and a HGV near junction 36 of the motorway.
The Citroen driver was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with injuries which were not thought to be life threatening, a spokesperson for the police said.
The fire and rescue service also attended as the woman had become trapped in her car as a result of the collision.
The male driver of the HGV, from Liverpool, was said to be uninjured.
Cumbria Roads Police have tweeted that one lane of the southbound carriageway was closed while recovery was carried out.
