A NEW shopfront planned for a Kendal newsagents has been approved by South Lakeland District Council, despite concerns.
Kendal Civic Society told planners it "objected strongly" to the use of aluminium at Highgate News, on Highgate. Kendal Town Council recommended refusal.
Planners decided the benefits of the proposed design outweighed any harm to the Grade II-listed shop.
