A £10,000 reward has been offered to help track down thieves who stole two brown horses from a field near Appleby.
Peter Elliott said he has been left 'inconsolable' after 19-year-old stallion Dom and 17-year-old mare Lucy were stolen from the 17 acre Pinewood Farm at Heights.
He appealed for anyone walking on moors in Eden to keep an eye out for the large horses, who 'stick together like glue'.
"Anyone walking in woods or the fells would know they look out of place because they are so big," he said.
"No horses are safe in Cumbria with the perpetrator still at large."
The horses were taken overnight on Wednesday (December 6).
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC1733 Smith on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting log 168 of 8 December.
