TRADITIONAL Shrove Tuesday pancake races saw dozens of villagers take to the streets of a Lake District village to have a flipping good time.
Troutbeck has held its annual pancake event since the turn of the century, and approximately 80 people turned out this year for the high energy races and tossing competitions.
"It was really good," said town crier Tony Legge who organises the event. "What looked like being a gloomy morning turned into a really pleasant afternoon.
"But we ran some races and tossed some pancakes and everybody seemed to enjoy it."
There were ten different races for entrants to take part in, including the hotly-contested hotel race.
"It's great fun," added Mr Legge. "You see people enjoying themselves and it's a real community effort.
"There was a lot of folk from the village involved one way or another and I think that's what appeals to everyone."
