SAINSBURY’S has confirmed it is on track to deliver its new Kendal superstore.
The Shap Road store is expected to create approximately 140 new job opportunities, with a spokesperson saying that the business aimed to employ people from the local community.
As well as groceries, the new store will offer a café, a pharmacy, an in-store bakery, a petrol filling station and 500 car parking spaces.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “We are delighted to announce our plans for a new Sainsbury’s superstore in Kendal.
“We believe the store will bring some great benefits to the community by providing investment in the local area, new jobs and support for local charities, as well as a fantastic choice of quality food.”
Developer Morbaine has confirmed to the Gazette that its work is on schedule and Sainsbury’s looks set to open the store at some point in the autumn.
